2002 Acrylic on canvas 40" x 30"
In 1998, the artist Rigo painted this brilliantly subversive work on the side of San Francisco's Williams Building. The meaning is open to interpretation, but I view it as a comment on the ever-changing landscape of the city.
Ironically, the mural itself has become a victim of development. A new highrise now obscures the mural and fills the area of blue sky shown in the painting.
