Doggy Diner

2002 Acrylic on canvas 20" x 16"

Doggy Diner was a popular 1950's restaurant chain. Many people fondly remember the weiner dog mascot with bow tie and chef's hat.

This sign is one of the few still standing from the long-defunct chain. The citizens of San Francisco have adopted it as a sort of unofficial city mascot, ensuring that future generations will continue to enjoy its loopy charm.
