The Santa Monica Pier is a wonderful place to observe humanity in all
its glory. It attracts a diverse
crowd of tourists, hippies, lovers,
fishermen and skateboarders.
Having gracefully withstood the pounding of feet and surf for almost
100 years, it has now been
transformed into an amusement center, with
ferris wheels, rollercoasters and arcades.
